WEYMOUTH, DORSET
Weymouth has always been a favourite with Drury Holidays. Its elegant Georgian seafront is an impressive backdrop to the long arc of fine, golden sand. The views from the bay are spectacular. We stay at the Hotel Rex once again and include visits to Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, West Bay and Bridport. We also have a free day in Weymouth.
MONDAY DAY 1
After our door to door service in the morning we travel to Weymouth and arrive late afternoon at the Hotel Rex.
TUESDAY DAY 2
After breakfast we travel to Bridport, a thriving, quirky and cultural market town which includes many shops selling local produce. Then on to neighbouring West Bay, once known as Bridport Harbour, which you may recognise from the awardwinning TV drama Broadchurch. Here fishing boats still land their catches daily. The River Brit, a tidal river flows into the sea at West Bay.
B, DWEDNESDAY DAY 3
Today we make the short journey to Abbotsbury Gardens. The history of Abbotsbury is tied closely with the creation of the monastery that once dominated the village and the Fox Strangways family. The hills that shelter the village provide a warm microclimate, allowing many exotic and unusual species of plant to thrive at the Subtropical Gardens.
B, DTHURSDAY DAY 4
Enjoy a free day in Weymouth. Take a stroll around the historic harbour, visit Nothe Fort and Gardens or just relax by the sea.
B, DFRIDAY DAY 5
After breakfast we depart Weymouth heading home to meet our door to door service by late afternoon. A stop will be made to purchase lunch.

Hotel Rex, Weymouth ***
We return to the 3-star Hotel Rex which is situated on the Esplanade overlooking the stunning golden sands of Weymouth Beach and the Jurassic Coastline beyond. The 17th Century Harbour, with its busy fishing fleet, is always a hive of activity and just a few yards away. Hotel facilities include a residents’ lounge, fully licensed bar, wireless internet access and a passenger lift that serves all floors. Please note there are several steps up to the hotel and on some room levels.
