YORKSHIRE FOOD & CRAFT
This special Yorkshire tour takes in the varied foods and crafts of the county, as well as the varied scenery and lifestyles of the Dales. You will be enchanted by the picturesque countryside and amazed at the rugged landscapes which hone the character of Yorkshire towns & villages.
MONDAY DAY 1
After our door to door service we head north west, arriving at The Crown Hotel late afternoon.
DTUESDAY DAY 2
We make our way to Leyburn and visit Ceramic Inspirations, where a huge variety of items are produced. Next door is the Chocolate Shop where you can treat yourself. We then journey to Hawes to visit the 'Cheese Experience' at the Wensleydale Creamery, home of Yorkshire's famous cheese. We then head to Richmond for a break.
B, DWEDNESDAY DAY 3
A chance to explore Harrogate this morning. With huge open spaces and broad tree-lined boulevards,
antique shops and shopping malls, elegant buildings, the town is a frequent winner of Britain in Bloom awards. Harrogate also boasts the world-famous Betty's tearooms! Later, we drive to Ripon, with its magnificent cathedral. Here we have time for lunch and a look around before we continue on our way to delightful Masham where we feature a tour and tasting at the award-winning Black Sheep Brewery.
THURSDAY DAY 4
Our first stop is the Mousey Thompson Visitor Centre, home to the now famous woodworker renowned for his little mouse carvings, adorning hand carved oak furniture. We continue to Helmsley where we can purchase lunch. Then onto Thirsk and visit 'The World of James Herriot', a fascinating tour, including many of the props and three studio sets as featured in the long running TV series based on the life and times of local vet Alf Wright.
B, DFRIDAY DAY 5
After breakfast we begin our journey home, meeting our door to door service late afternoon.

The Crown Hotel Harrogate ***
The impressive 300 years old Crown Hotel stands in Harrogate's Montpellier Quarter just a few minutes' walk from the major attractions, including the picturesque town centre with its fascinating antique shops, richly historic Victorian arcades and interesting boutique shops. All bedrooms are ensuite with tv, radio, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift.
