The seaside town of Looe in south east Cornwall is still very much a working fishing port. Many of the towns shops are located in buildings dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. We include visits to Pencarrow House & Gardens, Padstow and Tavistock. We once again stay at the popular Portbyhan Hotel close to the heart of the town, overlooking the harbour.
MONDAY DAY 1
After our door to door service we make our way to the south west and arrive in Looe late afternoon, with time to relax before dinner. A stop will be made with the chance to purchase lunch.
TUESDAY DAY 2
We travel to the fishing town of Padstow, on the North Cornwall coast, which is famous for the restaurants of celebrity chefs including Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth. Later we visit Pencarrow House and Gardens which has been the friendly family home of the Molesworth-St Aubyns for almost 500 years. Tucked away on the edge of Bodmin Moor, this fascinating Cornish Georgian gem offers lots to see including a Grade 11 listed garden & Iron Age fort.
WEDNESDAY DAY 3
After a leisurely breakfast this morning we travel to Tavistock which is a thriving, beautiful friendly market town . An ancient stannary town and home of the cream tea, Tavistock is the only town in Devon to hold world heritage status. The vibrancy and uniqueness of Tavistock is undeniable with a range of beautiful local independent shops which are a far cry from today's typical high street. Not to be overlooked is the famous pannier market.
THURSDAY DAY 4
We enjoy a free day to explore Looe town. Over the years, the town has retained its small fishing fleet, which return at high tide, to off load their catch alongside the riverside quay at the busy fish market, which dominates the towns East Quay. Why not visit the narrow streets lined with shops, cafes and pubs?
B, DFRIDAY DAY 5
After breakfast we leave Cornwall and travel north where we make a stop for lunch. We meet our door to door service early evening.
