LAKE GARDA, ITALY
The charm of the lakefront and the Mediterranean climate give Riva del Garda the atmosphere of Saint-Tropez. We enjoy a relaxed itinerary with excursions to Verona, Trento and Sirmione. Our hotel is the very popular Hotel Sole located in a perfect location on the lake.
FRIDAY DAY 1
After an early home pick up we travel to Dover for the short ferry crossing. Arriving at our overnight hotel just into Germany during the afternoon. (Mercure Saarbrucken)
DSATURDAY DAY 2
We continue our journey through Germany, Austria and Italy arriving at the Sole Hotel Riva Del Garda during the evening. (6 nights half board)
B, DSUNDAY DAY 3
We have a free day in Riva today.
B, DMONDAY DAY 4
Today we visit Verona, best known for its Shakespeare associations, and its pretty piazzas and knot of lanes, most in search of Romeo and Juliet. Verona is a bustling centre, with a remarkably well-preserved 1st-century amphitheatre, add to that countless churches, and the architecturally fascinating bridges over the Adige.
B, DTUESDAY DAY 5
After breakfast we join the coach to travel to Sirmione, which is famous for it's thermal water with it's healing properties. Situated on the south bank of Lake Garda. The city centre is characterised by the narrow alleys with the walls of stone, offering visitors romantic and suggestive views.
B, DWEDNESDAY DAY 6
Today we visit Trento, where tradition binds it to some of the most important moments in Italian history. Set in the heart of the Alps, it developed in Roman times and retains many elements from that period such as the early Christian basilica and the underground archaeological space in Piazza Cesare Battisti.
B, DTHURSDAY DAY 7
Today we enjoy another free day relaxing in Riva Del Garda.
B, DFRIDAY DAY 8
We begin our journey home, spending our final night once more close to Saarbrucken at the Mercure Hotel.
B, DSATURDAY DAY 9
Our last day of the tour. We join the late afternoon ferry from Calais, then travel from Dover to meet our door to door service during the evening.
