Join us on a new tour exploring the Isle of Bute. We access the island via the Calmac ferry from Wemyss. We enjoy free time on the Island, a sightseeing tour visiting Mount Stuart House and also cross over to the mainland to visit Inveraray castle. We stay at the 3* Glenburn Hotel.
SUNDAY DAY 1
After our door to door service we travel north and our overnight stay at the Holiday Inn Dumfries. Dinner, Bed and Breakfast
DMONDAY DAY 2
After breakfast, we journey to Wemyss Bay. Here we join the Calmac ferry for the crossing to the Isle of Bute and Rothesay, arriving late afternoon at Glenburn Hotel.
B, DTUESDAY DAY 3
Today is free for you to explore your new surroundings. Make your way into the town - a pleasant walk along the promenade, enjoy lunch and relax and watch the world go by, or have a lazy day in the hotel and admire the views to Loch Striven and beyond.
B, DWEDNESDAY DAY 4
A spectacular sightseeing tour today. We make our way to the north of the island to Rhubodach. Here we join the ferry for the 10-minute crossing to Colintrave, continuing northwards to Loch Fyne. We follow the coast road around the tip of the loch, turning south to the lovely little white-washed town of Inveraray. There is time for a look around and purchase a drink and bite to eat before our afternoon visit to magnificent, unique and fascinating Inveraray Castle, the ancestral home of the Duke of Argyll (Featured in Downton Abbey as Duneagle Castle). Later we retrace our steps to Colintrave and the ferry to Bute.
B, DTHURSDAY DAY 5
This morning we have a sightseeing drive around Bute, ending with a visit to the superb Mount Stuart House. Set in 300 acres of landscape and woodlands, the house is known as Britain's most spectacular Victorian Gothic House. From here we return to the hotel
B, DFRIDAY DAY 6
Leaving the hotel, we cross by ferry to Wemyss Bay and retrace our steps south to our overnight stay at the Holiday Inn Dumfries.
B, DSATURDAY DAY 7
After breakfast we begin our journey home, meeting our door to door service late afternoon.

Set in an outstanding position above its own terraced gardens, the Glenburn Hotel enjoys a superb panorama across the waters of Rothesay Bay to the Cowal Peninsula. The town's shops and harbour are a pleasant walk away along the promenade. All bedrooms are ensuite with TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The lift serves most floors.
