EDINBURGH, LOCH LOMOND
Offering the best of both worlds, this five-day tour combines the stunning central Scottish scenery of Loch Lomond while delving into Scotland's fascinating heritage in its capital city of Edinburgh. We are based in Cumbernauld. Relax on a scenic Loch Lomond cruise, step back in time at the UNESCO World Heritage site of New Lanark and explore Edinburgh Castle.
THURSDAY DAY 1
After our door to door service we travel to Scotland, arriving at our hotel in time for dinner.
DFRIDAY DAY 2
This morning, we head to the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond. Our first stop is Luss with its charming stone cottages and beautiful beach. Here we enjoy a cruise sailing south past the famous 'Narrows' and around the islands of Loch Lomond. In the afternoon, we journey to Callander, a peaceful town in the Trossachs with charming cafes, shops and historic sites.
B, DSATURDAY DAY 3
We spend today at the New Lanark World Heritage Site. We discover the fascinating 200-year social history of this beautifully restored cotton mill village. Listen to the story of a mill girl during the Annie McLeod Experience, see working textile machinery, enjoy the views from the imaginatively designed roof garden and explore the Millworkers' House.
B, DSUNDAY DAY 4
This morning, we head east to Scotland's capital to visit Edinburgh Castle. Offering a fascinating glimpse into Scotland's history. Perched atop Castle Rock, the castle boasts stunning views of the city and is home to the 'Honours of Scotland' the oldest crown jewels in Britain. After exploring the castle, we enjoy free time to wander the Royal Mile, a historic street lined with charming shops and cafes. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS A RELATIVELY STEEP WALK UP TO THE CASTLE.
B, DMONDAY DAY 5
After breakfast we make our way home, meeting our door to door service early evening.
