YORK LONG WEEKEND
York is a vibrant festival city with Roman roots and a Viking past. One of Britain's most beautiful and historic walled cities it has more attractions per square mile than any other city in the UK. Boasting the National Railway Museum, one of the world's most magnificent cathedrals, York Minster, and the world-famous Jorvik Viking Centre, you’ll find world-class museums, galleries and walking tours uncovering hidden secrets all within easy walking distance. Crowned Britain's home of chocolate, the most haunted city in Europe, York is abundant with culture and character.
FRIDAY DAY 1
After our door to door service we travel to York, arriving in time for dinner at the Queens Hotel. 3 nights stay - dinner, bed and breakfast.
DSATURDAY DAY 2
After a leisurely breakfast, we begin our day with a visit to 'The Chocolate Story' in York. This takes you on a guided tour of the history of chocolate making, including the Rowntree's factory which opened in 1890. In the afternoon, we enjoy a relaxing cruise on the River Ouse to see the city from the water.
B, DSUNDAY DAY 3
Today is free for you to enjoy York at your own pace. Take the opportunity to explore the city's charming streets, historic landmarks, independent shops, or perhaps visit the impressive York Minster, JORVIK Viking centre or the National Railway Museum.
B, DMONDAY DAY 4
After breakfast we depart the hotel and begin the journey home, to meet our door to door service late afternoon.

THE QUEENS HOTEL ***
The Queens Hotel is located on the banks of the River Ouse in the centre of York, ideal for all the attractions of this historic city. Enjoy a drink in the Riverside Lounge and the river views. All bedrooms are en suite and have a TV, telephone, hairdryer, and refreshment tray. The hotel has a lift.
