SIDMOUTH, SOUTH DEVON
A return visit to one of our most popular destinations in recent years, the Jurassic Coast resort of Sidmouth, staying at the highly respected Royal York & Faulkner Hotel on the sea front. We include a visit to Forde Abbey and Gardens, a circular boat cruise from Exmouth and free time in Exmouth and Sidmouth.
SATURDAY DAY 1
Following our morning door to door service we head towards Devon. After a stop to purchase lunch, we arrive late afternoon at our hotel.
DSUNDAY DAY 2
This morning, we head to Forde Abbey. Enjoy 30 acres of award-winning gardens with the highest-powered fountain in England, wildflower meadows, topiary lined vistas, herbaceous borders, arboretum, bog garden, and walled kitchen garden. The Abbey is home to the stunning Mortlake tapestries, woven from the internationally famous Raphael cartoons, now housed in the V&A. The Abbey has a rich and varied history spanning 900 years.
B, DMONDAY DAY 3
We spend today in Exmouth, the western gateway to the Jurassic Coast. It lies on the east bank of the mouth of the River Exe. The town is thought to be the oldest holiday resort in Devon. In the afternoon we enjoy a boat cruise. The circular cruise departs from Exmouth Marina, travelling the peaceful waters of the river, up near Powderham Castle and along to where the river opens out into the English Channel, on Exmouth's traditional seafront.
B, DTUESDAY DAY 4
Today we enjoy a free day relaxing in Sidmouth. Along the front is the Millennium Walkway which stretches the length of the beach, providing the perfect background for an afternoon stroll.

After breakfast we begin our journey home, meeting our door to door service late afternoon.

A regency hotel with an unrivalled position on Sidmouth’s elegant Esplanade. Guest bedrooms feature the essential amenities, including en-suite bathroom, TV, radio, telephone, hairdryer, free Wi-Fi and tea and coffee-making facilities. The hotel has a lift, however some rooms have several steps to access them.
