LLANDUDNO, WALES
Join us as we return to the family run Merrion Hotel. Our hotel is located along the prom with perfect access to the town attractions. We enjoy a variety of destinations during our visit including Portmerion and Betws-y-Coed, as well as a visit to Anglesey with a morning stop at Llanfairpwllgwyngyll and then onto Plas Newydd Gardens. Also a free day to enjoy Llandudno.
MONDAY DAY 1
After our morning door to door service we head north west, arriving late afternoon at The Merrion, Llandudno.
DTUESDAY DAY 2
We enjoy a hearty Welsh breakfast then join the coach for the short journey to Betws-y-Coed for our morning stop. Browse the independent shops retailing in crafts, clothing, gifts, and local homemade produce. Visit the art galleries displaying talented Welsh artists. We then travel to Portmeirion. Situated on a private peninsula overlooking stunning coastal scenery. The Italian Riviera meets rural Wales with a riot of colour and architectural styles at Portmeirion Village. Built by Sir Clough WilliamsEllis, Portmeirion is now one of Wales' most popular tourist destinations.
B, DWEDNESDAY DAY 3
We enjoy an excursion to Anglesey where our first stop is the village with the longest name in Britain. Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerych wyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogo ch (or Llanfair PG as it is known). We then include a visit to Plas Newydd House & Gardens which has many a story to tell. Discover the early history of William Paget, Secretary of State to Henry VIII, and the bravery of the first Marquess of Anglesey who famously lost a leg in the Battle of Waterloo.
B, DTHURSDAY DAY 4
We enjoy a free day to explore Llandudno town. Take the Tram up the Great Orme, enjoy a vintage bus ride, (price not included) or simply stroll along the prom.
B, DFRIDAY DAY 5
After breakfast we begin our journey home, meeting our door to door service late afternoon.
