Lake Maggiore, Italy
Lake Maggiore is Italy’s second largest lake (after Lake Garda), where mountains plunge to the lakeside and grand villas lie secluded behind palm trees and lush gardens. We include a ride on the Lake Maggiore Express and coach drive to spectacular Lake Orta.
Monday Day 1
After an early home pick up we travel to Dover for the short ferry crossing, arriving at our overnight hotel near Metz during the evening.
Tuesday Day 2
After breakfast we continue through France, Switzerland then cross into Italy, arriving at Hotel Astoria in the early evening.
B, DWednesday Day 3
Today we enjoy a leisurely day visiting the idylic Borromean islands by boat, located just offshore from the centre of Stresa.
B, DThursday Day 4
We join our coach for a visit to Lake Orta, and to one of northen Italy's best kept secrets, its capital, Orta San Giulio, which has a delightful medieval centre.
B, DFriday Day 5
The highlight of our tour, we join the Lake Maggiore Express to Domodossola at which point we change to the scenic high level railway through the mountains and down to Locarno, a bustling town on the Swiss shores of Lake Maggiore.
B, DSaturday Day 6
Enjoy a free day to stroll around Stresa town, or simply relax in the hotel gardens soaking up the sun.

We travel back to our overnight hotel close to Metz

We make our way to Calais for the afternoon sea crossing back to Dover and hope to return back to our door to door service early evening.

This welcoming 4 star hotel is family run. Its excellent location is directly on the promenade just a few minutes’ stroll from the lovely centre of Stresa.
